The Social Welfare Department, Govt, of Manipur has been implementing various Schemes/programs and services for the upliftment of disadvantaged segments of the population specially women, children, differently abled persons, old aged and infirm. However, there is a need for a Scheme/Programme specially designed/ targeted for woman without any income and not covered by the existing government schemes for individual beneficiaries.
“Ima Nongthangieima Yaipha Tengbang” scheme was announced during the commemoration of Nupi Lan Day on 12th December, 2023 to address the above mentioned need.
SCHEME DETAILS
“Ima Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang” scheme was announced during the commemoration of Nupi Lan Day on 12th December, 2023. The scheme is designed to benefit approximately 4 lakh women in Manipur who are above the age of 40 years, providing them with monetary support for their diverse livelihood pursuits. Monetary benefit at the rate of Rs.500/- per month will be given to women who are not beneficiaries of any existing government scheme, for individual beneficiaries and are living without any source of livelihood.

- Widows
- Divorcees
- Separated Women
- Deprived and marginalized women such as ex-drug users Etc.
- Single women
- Single transgender women
- Women belonging to low-income household and other marginalized group.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications in prescribed format are invited for availing financial assistance under Ima Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang Scheme for women who are above the age of 40 years for FY 2024-2025. Forms may be downloaded from the Departments website https://socialweIfare.mn.gov.in or obtained from the Directorate Office near 2nd MR Gate.
Duly filled in application forms along with necessary documents including a copy of Bank Passbook should be submitted to the concerned District Social Welfare Officer of 16 (Sixteen) Districts of Manipur on or before 31st March, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria:-
- She should be a resident of Manipur
- She should be above the age of 40 years
- She should not be a beneficiary of any existing Government Scheme for individual beneficiaries
- She should be living without any source of income/livelihood
Documents required:-
- Aadhar as proof of Identity
- Certification that the applicant is not being a beneficiary of any existing Government Schemes for individual beneficiary, to be given by the Panchayat or Municipality or District Council
- Unemployment Certificate/Income Certificate issued by Gazette Officer
- Matriculation Certificate or birth certificate as proof of age
- Residence Certificate issued by a Gazette Officer, with seal and signature
